Listen & Validate What <u>Is</u> True

It is not always necessary to solve the problem the resident is having, but it is important to listen and validate. If the resident feels like everyone is stealing from them, you can listen and say 'that must feel awful, I would hate to have my things taken'. Let them know that they are safe, no matter what happens there will always be someone here looking out for them...fear of being left alone may be the underlying issue.
