Games Can Be Mind Exercises

Playing a game can be a pleasurable activity that has other purposes and benefits, as well. For example, checkers creates an opportunity for social engagement, in this case one-on-one with Resident Denise and myself. It also provides exercise for the mind. The workout includes recalling and following the rules of the game, the processing of information (ability and speed), and reasoning that leads to the game moves. To lessen player frustration and keep things fun, I don't expect perfection and go with the flow.
